Q. Where do I register and take my online courses?
A. Students will enroll and register for courses within Poliquin Education. You will create your own student account here that will track all of your coursework, online or in-person. Students take their online courses at Poliquin Education Online. Poliquin Education Online is a Learning Management System, LMS. You can log in with the same Username and Password that you create for your registration student account.
Q. How do I know when to log on to Poliquin Education Online and start my online course?
A. After you enroll and register for your online course, you will receive a Confirmation Email which includes your course information and payment information. You will then receive a 2nd email confirming your Poliquin Education Online course with a link to log in. You may start your coursework anytime upon receipt of this 2nd email.
Q. How do I edit my student account information, password, billing/shipping address, etc.?
A. If you need to make any changes to your student account/profile, always make the changes in the Poliquin Registration website. This is the main account. Changes made in the Poliquin Education Online website student profile will not be reflected in the Poliquin Registration student account. Your username for both accounts is always your email address!
Q. What is the refund / cancellation policy?
A. The cancelation policy does not change for Poliquin Education Online courses. You may read the Cancellation Policy HERE.

Technology
Q. What technology is required for Poliquin Education Online?
A. We do not require any sophisticated technology or programs for our courses. Basic computer software (Windows 2000, Vista or XP preferred), Flash Payer 8 or newer, Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox, an email address, and an Internet connection (56KB modem minimum) are the primary needs for participation. Our technical support staff does strongly recommend a broadband (cable modem or DSL) Internet connection if possible. You do not need to own a computer to take our online courses.
Q. Is it hard to learn how to use the online coursework?
A. Not at all! Our online coursework is similar to most other basic software programs. Once you log in the coursework will be featured on the homepage. All you need to do is click and learn!
Q. How do I hand in assignments?
A. As you conduct your couse work, your results register with the database online. You can view your results or progress at any time by clicking on your 'Transcript' within the LMS.
Q. What if my computer freezes as I am sending my assignment?
A. If your computer freezes or crashes in the midst of sending your assignment results (exams), your results may not reach our database and you will not receive credit for the assignment. Please make sure to immediately take a screen shot or 'print screen' of the final slide indicating you have completed the assignment.

Q. If I am already enrolled in a 2011 Course will I get access to the Online Materials?
A. Yes, students currently enrolled in PICP Courses January-June 2011 will be able to access the online materials once they complete their scheduled course. Online Materials will be available in the Coaches Community.
Q. I am enrolled in a PICP Course between January-June 2011 but I would rather take the Online version. How can I switch?
A. If a student is already enrolled, they are responsible for paying the difference between the Online and Regular Formats. Students will only be allowed to complete the online course in order (Theory, Technical and Practical) and they are subject to the 18-month time limit and the Poliquin Education Online Cancellation Policies.
Q. Do I need to complete any pre-requisites before starting my PICP Level 1 Certification?
A. There are no pre-requisites required to start the PICP Courses.
Q. What are my payment options?
A. All of the Online courses, must be paid in full and only the Practical Section will allow for a partial refund if cancelled.

PICP Online
Q. I am enrolled in a PICP Course between January-June 2011 but I would rather take the Online version. How can I switch?

Q. I am not sure if I am ready to start the PICP Courses. What kind of knowledge is useful to start PICP Courses?
A. We find coaches who have a firm grasp on anatomy & physiology, biomechanics and basic training principles do well in our PICP Courses. If you would like to read up on some of these topics, a list of books can be found in our References & Links located in the Article & Multimedia section of our main website.
Q. Do I need to complete any pre-requisites before starting my PICP Level 1 Certification?
A. There are no pre-requisites required to start the PICP Courses.
Q. How long do I have to complete a PICP Level Online?
A. Once you start the Theory section, you have 18 months to complete the entire level (Theory, Technical, Practical). If you do not complete the Level within that time, you will lose access to all of the Online Material and the you must start the course over.
Q. What happens if I do not complete the required Level within 18 months?
A. Students will lose access to all online materials and must re-take the course, from the beginning, at a discounted rate.
Q. What are my payment options?
A. All the Online courses, must be paid in full and only the Practical Section will allow for a partial refund if cancelled.
Q. Can I transfer my Practical location/date?
A. If you transfer your Practical date, you will be subject to the transfer fee (Cancellation/Transfer Policy) but you will still have access to the online material.
Q. If I cancel my Practical, will I still have access to online material?
A. No, if you cancel the practical, you will lose your access to the practical material only. If you do not reschedule the practical section within the 18-month completion window, you will lose all access to online materials and will be required to re-take the course, from the beginning, at a discounted rate.
Q. Once I have completed all the components of a level, will I still have access to the material?
A. Yes, you will have access in the Coaches Community as long as you remain a certified coach. View the Current Certified Coach Policy HERE.

BioSignature Method Programs
Q. Are there any prerequisites required before registering for a BioSignature Level 1 Course?
A. Currently there are no prerequisites required prior to taking a course but students will receive a Suggested Reading List upon registration.
Q. Should I have a background in physiology, nutrition, and/or training?
A. It is not required to have backgrounds in these fields, but we find that students with knowledge in nutrition, physiology and biochemistry do well in the BioSignature course.
Q. Are there required materials for the course?
A. All students are required to bring skin fold calipers to course. We only recommend John Bull/Harpenden Skin Fold Calipers.
Q. Do BioSignature courses require any physical activity?
A. The 5-day BioSignature Level 1 Course is a lecture-based course and does not require any physical activity. All students are required to practice taking the skin-fold sites and are advised to wear appropriate clothing.
Q. What type of clothing should I wear to class?
A. It is suggested that all students wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Q. Does the BioSignature course require any exams?
A. Currently there are no exams or assessments in the BioSignature Courses.
Q. Does BioSignature qualify me to make medical decisions about clients?
A. Becoming a BioSignature Practitioner does not qualify you to make medical decisions. It is strongly recommended you direct any medical questions to qualified healthcare practitioners.
Q. Are there any recertification requirements for BioSignature Practitioners?
A. BioSignature Practitioners are required to recertify each year. You can view our BioSignature Practitioner Recertification Policy HERE.
Q. After I finish the course, is there anywhere I can ask questions about information learned in class?
A. Once you finish the course our BioSignature Practitioners receive access to the Coaches Community where they can find updated and specialized protocols and exclusive articles & videos. There is also a coach’s forum where Practitioners can ask questions to other practitioners and interact with Charles Poliquin.
