My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

Jan 28

1/28/2010 11:38 PM

Thursday January 28, 2010.

This is day four of my seven day nutritional cleanse.

This morning, looked like all the fiber taken over the last few days decided to exit at once. Sparing you the details.

The head is getting clearer. When I worked out today I nearly fainted after my fifth set of deadlifts. Strength was up, just needed more mental effort than usual. So cutting calories, fats and protein did not take a toll on my training.

What I learned from yesterday:
Magnesium, magnesium, magnesium, looks like the cleanse is increasing my magnesium, which are already genetically high.

My Plan for day 4

Upon awakening:
15 grams of Primal Fiber 3 in a full glass of water, 2 tablespoons of liquid chlorophyll are added to the mix for further alkalinization.

Meal 1:
Inflam Px, 3 scoops in ≤ liters water
20 grams of glutamine
10 B.C.A.A. Excellence
5 Yang-R-ALA

Meal 2:
30 grams of Primal Reds in ≤ liters water. Switching here to, to prevent taste fatigue again.
20 grams of glutamine
10 Amino Acid Supreme
10 B.C.A.A. Excellence
5 Yang-R-ALA
1 Über C
2 P1P2 Balance

1 cup of Brocolli, new green vegetable of the day.

Meal 3:
Primal Clear pH, 3 scoops in ≤ liters water
20 grams of glutamine
2 Vasculo Guard Px
10 B.C.A.A. Excellence
1 Über C
2 P1P2 Balance
Steamed mixed greens

Meal 4:
30 grams of Phyto Px,mixed in ≤ liters of pure water
20 grams of glutamine
10 Amino Acid Supreme
10 B.C.A.A. Excellence
1 Über C
2 P1P2 Balance
1 cup of steamed veggies
3 teaspoons of Chi San for the adrenals

Meal 5:
Inflam Px, 3 scoops mixed in ≤ liters of pure water
2 Vasculo Guard Px
20 grams of glutamine
5 Yin-R-ALA
2 Hepato Force
4 Über Mag

Meal 6:
30 grams of Primal Reds mixed in ≤ liters of pure water
20 grams of glutamine
1 Perfect E 3.0
2 Hepato Force
5 Yin-R-ALA
4 Über Mag

Before bed:
15 grams of Primal Fiber 3, 1 in a full glass of water, with 2 tablespoon of liquid chlorophyll added to it.
I also drink a supplemental glass of water within 10 minutes of doing the fiber solution.

4 pumps of Topical Mag on skin.

Comments:
My hunger pangs at dinner were horrendous, most likely because of the zero fat approach to rest the gall bladder.

Losing abdominal fat pretty much exclusively. Veins were showing on my lower abs this morning.

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

I Give you so much Credit Mr. Pouliquin this is an awesome cleanse, and I am glad you started a blog, I love reading your articles and have a couple of your books . I also like the fact that you cutting calories has not affected your strength levels at all. Im looking foward to the end results !!

I do have a quick question if you do not mind, My question revolves around your supplements I ordered : Digest Force, Fernuplex, Insulin plex 2.0 , I am on your protein diet - fat loss of course, and Im wondering what is the best way to use these supplements to get the max benefit of them?

Hi Charles, just wanted to ask what brand and form of topical mag you are using? The site and facebook page is brilliant by the way! James

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

Charles,
What prompted the cleanse? Do you have markers that point to a need for one, i.e. performance, a biosignature marker, sleep patterns? How do you gauge the effectiveness of a cleanse and when or if you need to change protocols? I understand you may have to give a general explanation as the answers may go beyond the scope of an online answer, but thank you for your time and for sharing the experience. I took the Biosig course a few months ago and the most insightful portion for me was listening to each individuals protocol, either what your suggested or changed from what they were on.

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

Thanks again for the feedback. I've answered some questions below:

Nicholas: My recommendations are too long for the blog. Consult a Biosignature practitioner: www.charlespoliquin.com/ForAthletes/FindaCoach.aspx

James: I use my own brand - you can get some here: us.cpoliquin.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Topical+Mag
Thank you for the blog

Mitch: I did the cleanse for general health purposes. Dr. Rakowski reminded me of how important they are. I will do a 3 day short version, once a month now.

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

Does 20g of glutamine with every meal cause any abdominal discomfort? Does a zero fat approach interfere with hormone production?

I've noticed that you aren't taking any vitamin D other than what is in the multi. Are your levels adequate? Or are you getting full sun exposure?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

Hi Charles, the Chi San product you're taking looks interesting. i'm just curious, if adrenal health is a concern how come there's no Pantethine 2.0 in your supplements? im a little confused about pantethine. if it it can potentially increase testosterone and provide energy im eager to learn the best way to utilize it.
Also, I jump up and down like a little girl every time t-nation.com puts out a new "Question of Strength" article, so to have daily updates and almost weekly articles on your site has been just amazing. Thanks a lot :)

Kishore: I had no GI issues with the Glutamine, again my GI is healthy. Based on just shaving, my androgens were fine.

Tim: My D levels are excellent, so I did not take any. Just wanted to keep oils to a minimum.

Sean: I use it in my practice as a separate supplement.

Re: My Seven Day Cleanse, Day 4

100 mg of glutamine! My god! Excuse my ignorance, but I've read that more than 45mg per can be toxic to the body. I certainly am wrong lol

Mr Poliquin, could explain the issue? For a person weighing 90 kg with a low carbohydrate diet, which would be ideal for glutamine?

already many thanks. And congratulations on the job.
