We're in the middle of a Level 1 PICP Certification Course at the Poliquin Strength Institute in East Greenwich, RI and Chris from Lawrence, Kansas agreed to tell us about his experience. Chris has a Master's degree in exercise science and is a successful personal trainer in Kansas. He decided to get the PICP certification to take his training to the next level, and he is particularly interested in learning structural balance testing. He tells us he'd like to be able to take more of a pre-habilitative than a rehabilitative approach with his clients.

Another reason he's here is that in the process of getting his Master's, he found that the university setting isn't where you necessarily get the newest information. Rather, Chris has found that the best coaches and athletes are two steps ahead of what's happening in the lab. There's a tendency to dismiss what works in the gym to make athletes faster and stronger if it's not back up with peer reviewed research. Listen to Chris tell us about his desire to strengthen the weakest link.
